Thakurgaon district is bounded on the north by Panchagarh district, on the east by Panchagarh and Dinajpur districts, on the west and south by West Bengal of India. Thakurgaon district is located between 25040 to 27010 north latitude and between 8005 and 8038 east longitude. The total area of Thakurgaon district is 1609.52 sq km. Thakurgaon district includes the Barind and the old Himalayan foothills.
